Next Ascent did the first print guidebook to Lost Lake in 2013. Since then we have updated the area significantly in our brand new color print guidebook and expanded the beta for this amazing bouldering area near Mount Hood.
Information on the print guide and app guidebook are available on this page. If you like climbing or bouldering near Mount Hood you should also check out our Eliot Creek Bouldering app (also included in the print book).

Lost Lake has become one of the most popular bouldering areas in Northwest Oregon. We found out that boulderers who visit here often had a really hard time locating the boulders because other sources for the boulders lacked enough photos to oreint climbers visiting the boulder feilds. To help climbers have a great visit we made sure our app guide and print guide have a photo topo of nearly every problem at the area as well as overview illustrated maps and topos.

Lost Lake boulders is a collection of sectors on the south side of Mount Hood near the popular Lost Lake campground and the actual namesake lake. Since the lake is one of the most popular camping areas in the Nortwest it’s no surprise that the bouldering area is also really popular.
This area is seasonal however. The best time to boulder here is in late spring through mid to late autumn. Winter brings high snow levels and impassable access.
If you visit this area be sure to also check out nearby Eliot Creek Bouldering area as well as the Sugar Cubes. Both offer excellent bouldering in a gorgeous setting directly below Mount Hood.
